I had just one day in St. Louis, and luck had it that tonight was special—a full moon aligning perfectly with the Gateway Arch. A rare event, and I wasn’t about to miss it. I set up my tripod along the Mississippi, watching the last colors of sunset fade.
But as I dialed in my settings, trouble hit—a thick bank of clouds rolled in, swallowing the moon and my one chance. My heart sank. Had I come all this way for nothing? The moon’s timing was critical, and I couldn’t reschedule. I debated packing up, but something told me to wait.
Minutes stretched. Then—just as I was losing hope—the wind picked up pushing the clouds completely out of frame. The moon fully exposed, glowing brilliantly. Quickly, I verfied all my settings, and clicked the shutter.
The result? A perfect shot—St. Louis’ iconic Arch bathed in twilight, the full moon settling right on its side, like a moment crafted by the universe itself. The challenge made the success even sweeter.
